To Appear as a Hag in a Target’s Dreams
To be as a hag and to torment a target with nightmares and other horrors in their dreams, collect the dirt from their bare foot print and hide it away. On a Thursday, at three o'clock in the morning, stand naked in front a mirror and sprinkle the dirt over your head and shoulders, saying: "With this, I transform myself into a hag and so remain until the sun rises. With this, I come for you, [Nomen nescio]. With this I come into your dreams to make them reddish and unholy. I know that you shall feel this fear until the day I release you from it."
Adaptation Notes: The original charm used as the foundation for this adaptations can be viewed here in its original Swedish, in the 1917 publication “Signerier och Besvärjelser: Svartkonst från Lappland". The original charm, titled “Att göra sig oslynlig", reads:
English Translation:
To Make Oneself Invisible
To make oneself invisible, proceed as follows: Obtain—purchase—a human bone on a Saturday night between twelve and one o'clock. Scrape the bone into a powder with a knife. Then, sprinkle the powder over your head and say: "I make myself invisible, like the spirit who was once united with this bone; I pledge my soul as payment. Bonus Bister, under the Devil's seal, in the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." When you wish to become visible again, stab the knife into a tree or the wall of a house.
This is simultaneously a variation of Jon Johannson's method paired with a variation of one of the first baneful workings I learned during my mentorship. Rather than using the dirt as a transformative contagion, it is used as an associative contagion to create an energetic connection between the sleeping target and the caster, which can be followed into the target's dreams.
